The research involves developing photocatalytic reactions for the reduction of CO2 to fuels and the reduction of protons to hydrogen gas.
The work involves optimizing the respective photocatalytic reactions that have been develop in the group using iron N-heterocyclic carbene complex as the photosensitizer together with different CO2-reduction catalysts.
Qualification requirements
A PhD or equivalent research qualification within organic/inorganic chemistry.
Post-doc research qualifications within the area of photocatalysis involving transition metal complexes.
Previous research experience using iron N-heterocycklic complexes in the context of CO2 rduction and H2 evolution is meritorious.
Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.
