The School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) provides a vibrant and nurturing environment for staff and students to carry out inter-disciplinary research in key areas such as Computational Materials Science, Characterisation Materials Science, Defence Composite Materials, Functional Composite Materials, Energy, Nanomaterials, Low Dimensional Materials, Biomaterials Materials, Biological Materials, Bioinspired Materials and Sustainable Materials.

We are seeking a highly motivated research fellow to join our dynamic team at the School of Materials and Science Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of materials science, advanced manufacturing, robotics, and sensing.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct independent research in areas related to soft materials for actuation and/or sensing Develop and implement actuation technology Optimization of formulation for polymer synthesis and functionalization for actuators fabrication Contribute to ongoing soft robotics research Collaborate with faculty and other researchers on interdisciplinary projects Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at top conferences Assist in mentoring students Job Requirement: Ph.D. in Material Science, Engineering, Actuators and Polymer Synthesis Strong background in materials formulations or synthesis Experience in printing technology or coating techniques Expertise in Actuator device fabrication Expertise in AI and machine learning is advantageous Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
