[Background of the recruitment and description of the project]

The Institute for Solid State Physics (ISSP) was established in 1957 as a national joint research institute at the University of Tokyo to promote condensed matter physics and materials science research in Japan.

In 2010, ISSP was granted a license to operate as a joint research center and act as a center of excellence in condensed matter physics and materials science.

Since its inception, Research, Human Capability Development, and Joint Usage are the core axes of our activities.

[Work content and job description]

ISSP is seeking highly motivated early-career researchers to advance condensed matter physics research under extreme conditions using high-brilliance hard X-ray sources, including SPring-8 and SACLA, in the Kubota Group.

Applicants who are interested in contributing to the SPring-8-II upgrade project and pursuing innovative research based on novel ideas are particularly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will also contribute to the supervision of graduate students, joint research, and industry-academia collaborations.

Previous experience in synchrotron radiation experiments is not required.

Details are in accordance with Article 4 of the Regulations on the Employment of University of Tokyo Faculty Members.
