- Preparation of gas diffusion electrodes and optimisation according to results obtained in proton or anion conducting polymer electrolyte fuel cells

- Electrochemical characterisations in fuel cells and data analysis

The research topic is the electrochemical characterization of catalysts and membranes for fuel cells operating with either anion conducting membrane or proton conducting membrane.

In particular, the work will focus on the optimization of electrode fabrication and the choice of operating conditions of the fuel cell to improve its performances.

The overall objective is to improve activity and long-term stability of fuel cells free of precious metals.

The work will be carried out within the Institut Charles Gerhardt de Montpellier, a mixed research unit between CNRS, Montpellier University and ENSCM.

The cluster "Electrochemistry for Energy" investigates and develops key materials for various electrochemical energy conversion devices, including batteries, electrochemical supercapacitors, fuel cells and electrolysers.

Regarding fuel cells, the laboratory is internationally recognized for its work on novel membranes and catalysts for proton and/or anion exchange membrane fuel cells, spanning from the synthesis of novel materials to their integration in fuel cell.
