About the position

Post-Doc position in thin film growth of oxides M/F

Institution: CNRS

Research Field: Engineering

Researcher Profile: Recognised Researcher (R2)

Application Deadline: 9 Oct 2026 - 23:59 (UTC)

Job Status: Full-time

Is the job funded through the EU Research Framework Programme?: Not funded by a EU programme

Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure?: No

The position focuses on the emerging field of topotactic reduction of nickelate thin films, a novel research direction in condensed matter physics.

It will be fully funded within the framework of the ANR TAME project.

The project concerns the study of rare-earth nickelates in the infinite-layer phase, either partially or fully reduced.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Fabricating heterostructures by pulsed laser deposition (PLD);

• Working in close collaboration with the project's theoreticians to interpret the experimental results within the framework of recent theories related to charge ordering.

• Design and implementation of experiments on thin-film growth and topotactic reduction;

• Contribution to the scientific and technical dissemination of the ANR TAME project;

The position will be based primarily at the Institut de Physique et Chimie des Matériaux de Strasbourg (IPCMS–UMR7504), within the “Oxides in Thin Films” team of the Department of Inorganic Materials Chemistry, under the supervision of Daniele Preziosi.

Staff researcher at IPCMS.

Also to note the presence of On-site university catering and easy access by public transport.

The IPCMS is a joint research unit of the CNRS (INP, INC) and the University of Strasbourg, comprising five departments dedicated to research in condensed matter physics and chemistry.

Today, IPCMS employs around 240 staff members, including approximately 80 researchers and faculty members and 60 engineers, technicians, and administrative personnel.

Please note that this position falls within a sector subject to protection of scientific and technical potential.
