The University of Macau (UM) is a comprehensive research-oriented public university of international standing in the Macao Special Administrative Region, which is located in the western part of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), one of the world’s fastest-growing hubs for technology and innovation.

Committed to supporting Macao’s economic diversification and the development of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, UM actively advances frontier research and develops interdisciplinary programmes in a range of strategic areas, including precision oncology, advanced materials, regional oceanography, artificial intelligence and robotics, data science, cognitive and brain science, and economics and finance.

The interdisciplinary nature of IAPME enables realization of the different research strengths of the university in the scientific engineering solutions as well as in the coping of future technological challenges.

At the current stage, the key research areas include environmental materials, photo-electric and electro-optic conversion materials, catalytic and energy materials, materials design and simulation, soft smart materials for wearable and biomedical applications, AI+ science, etc..

Candidates should demonstrate strong potential or established excellence in research and teaching, with a proven record of high-quality publications in reputable international journals and relevant academic experience.

A taxable annual remuneration starting MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience.

  • The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in Spring 2027.

Remuneration
A taxable annual remuneration starting MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience.
