Assistant Professor of Chemical and Materials Engineering
California State Polytechnic University, Pomona invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering.
The College offers 12 ABET-accredited undergraduate degrees and seven Master’s degrees to over 8,500 students across seven academic departments that include: Aerospace Engineering, Chemical and Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
Position description: The Chemical and Materials Engineering Department invites applications at the Assistant Professor level for one tenure-track faculty position beginning August 2027/Fall semester to teach a broad range of chemical engineering courses and laboratories including material and energy balances, thermodynamics, transport phenomena, unit operations, process design, and emerging technologies in chemical engineering.
The successful applicant will participate in all aspects of the department’s mission, including teaching and advising students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, developing curriculum and laboratories, establishing a well-funded research program and participating in service to the department, college, university, and the profession.
Applicants whose work incorporates energy systems and sustainability are particularly encouraged to apply.
• Demonstrable experience/interest in establishing and maintaining sponsored research in a field related to Chemical Engineering,
Demonstrable skills in the development of sustainable engineering fields, such as energy and the environment.

Salary Range: $109,383 - $113,383
