The Assistant Professor / Postdoctoral Researcher will work in the Department of Medical Diagnostics at CEZAMAT, Warsaw University of Technology, within the NCN SONATA 19 project on hybrid graphene-carbon nanotube biosensors for multi-biomarker sepsis diagnostics.

The researcher will conduct surface chemistry and bioconjugation experiments, functionalize graphene and SWCNTs, immobilize antibodies, antibody fragments and enzymes, and develop biosensors for CRP, PSP and lactate.

Research experience in biosensing, preferably electrochemical and/or field-effect transistor (FET)-based electronic biosensing.

Experience in wet chemistry and surface modification or functionalization.

Experience in bioconjugation and biomolecule immobilization, particularly EDC/NHS coupling, maleimide chemistry and/or PEG-based surface chemistry.

Experience working with proteins, antibodies or antibody fragments and/or enzymes.

Experience with biological samples or complex matrices such as serum or plasma, including control experiments and interference studies.

Knowledge of electrochemical methods; experience with FET measurements or other bioelectronic methods will be an advantage.

Experience supervising students or junior researchers will be an advantage.

Specific Requirements

Conduct research within the NCN SONATA 19 project on hybrid graphene-carbon nanotube biosensors for sepsis diagnostics.

Develop and validate affinity FET biosensors and enzymatic amperometric biosensors for CRP, IL-6 and lactate.

Prepare scientific publications, present results at conferences and contribute to project reporting.

Partially supervise a PhD student and support junior team members while collaborating with researchers responsible for device fabrication and characterization.

The position is research-only, full-time and temporary.
